FIRST DAY FOR MALE CASTING CALL WINNER!

A STAR IS BORN

On Wednesday, March 15, the big day finally arrived for Ryan Gesell! As you all know by now, Ryan was one of the winners of our Online Casting Call. Ryan reported for duty on March 15 to the set of Passions for his role as a rescuer at the Ski Lodge. Here's your exclusive look at Ryan's day at Passions. And make sure to catch this rising star on Passions on Wednesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 13!

7:15 am Ryan's call time! Each of the actors scheduled to shoot each day has a specific call time, which is when they have to report to the set. Ryan arrived right on time at 7:15, at which time he checked in with Bret Warren, one of Passions' stage managers. Bret sent Ryan to his dressing room, where his wardrobe was waiting for him. But first, Ryan made a quick stop at Craft Services for a requisite cup of early morning coffee.

7:20 am Off to hair and makeup where according to Ryan, "they did a real quick job. Just a little foundation and a comb through of my hair. They really know their stuff in there."

7:30- 8:00 am Now that Ryan's been "transformed" for his part on Passions, Ryan reports to the set for rehearsal or "blocking" with Taylor Anne Mountz and Lena Cardwell He admits that he was nervous right before he went on set but he kept telling himself to just relax-that he knew the lines! Most of Ryan's dialogue was with Taylor Anne, who he says has "a lot of intensity in her eyes, which really helped me focus on the scene."

8:30 am Taping for the day begins. The scenes in the ski lodge are up first so Ryan heads for the stage, because there are just a few scenes before Ryan is up. While waiting for his scenes, Ryan chats with Taylor Anne, Lena, Molly Stanton and Bruce Michael Hall. Not that it was just idle chitchat-according to Ryan, he and Bruce "solved the world's problems!" Not bad for a day's work! Ryan was also photographed for soap publications, which he admits made him feel a little "self conscious" but then again he got to take his picture with "two beautiful women"-Lena and Taylor Anne.

10 am: The time has come for Ryan to take the stage. Some stage fright hit when Ryan realized it was time to go on camera, but he just tried to focus and tell himself that he knew what he was doing. Ryan proved to be a pro, as he followed direction and performed his lines with ease. Looks like those of you who voted knew a star when you saw one!

11:30 am: Ryan is finished shooting for the day. He said all in all he thought he did well and that he had a great time at Passions. Overall impressions? "The cast was really nice and very professional!" Ryan fit right in at Passions...but once he was done for the day he was off to his other role-that of a UCLA student with two papers to write!
