NBC DAYTIME EXTENDS ITS UNBEATEN STREAK AMONG WOMEN 18-49 TO 14 WEEKS

SEASON-TO-DATE, NBC DAYTIME IS #1 AMONG WOMEN 18-49, 18-34, 18-24 AND FEMALES 12-17

THE 'DAYS'-'PASSIONS' COMBO IS UP 45 PERCENT THIS FALL VS. LAST AMONG WORKING WOMEN 18-49, MAKING NBC #1 IN THIS ELUSIVE, VALUABLE CATEGORY

BURBANK, Calif. -- November 13, 2003 -- NBC's two-hour daytime line up of "Days of our Lives" and "Passions" has continued its mastery of the competition in daytime's key demographic of women 18-49 during the week of Nov 3-7.

"Days of our Lives" was #1 among women 18-49 (2.8 rating, 17 share) for the first time this season, while scoring its highest rating in 10 months (since the week of Dec. 30, 2002-Jan. 3, 2003). Among women 18-34 (3.3/21), "Days" was #1 for the 430th time in 432 weeks.

"Passions" (1.9/11 among women 18-49, 2.5/15 among women 18-34, 2.6/18 among women 18-24) was #7 for the week among women 18-49, and #2 among women 18-34 and women 18-24 (trailing only "Days" in the latter two categories).

With its Nov. 3-9 victory, NBC Daytime's two-hour lineup extended its unbeaten streak among women 18-49 to 14 weeks in a row. In the valuable women 18-34 category, NBC has been #1 for 205 weeks in a row.

Season to date, NBC is #1 among women 18-49, women 18-34, women 18-24 and females 12-17. Season to date, "Passions" is tied with "Days" as daytime's #1 series among women 18-24 (2.5/17) and "Days" is #1 outright among women 18-34 (2.9/18).

According to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, Nov. 3-7 results among women 18-49 were: NBC, a 2.3 rating, 14 share; ABC, 2.1/13; CBS, 1.8/12. Women 18-34 ratings were: NBC, 2.9/18; CBS, 1.5/10; ABC, 1.4/9. Women 18-24 results were: NBC, 2.8/20; ABC, 1.1/8; CBS, 0.8/6. In total viewers, averages were: CBS, 4.5 million; ABC, 3.6 million; NBC, 3.4 million. Note that NBC broadcasts two hours a day of daytime programming while ABC airs four hours and CBS carries four-and-a-half hours.

NBC Daytime is the #1 choice this fall among working women, up a spectacular 45 percent over year-ago results among working women 18-49. With its dramas targeted at young, upscale women, NBC is averaging a 1.6 rating 14 share in this elusive and valuable category so far this season, to lead ABC's 1.4/12 (even with last year) and CBS' 1.3/12 (down 7 percent). "Days" (1.9/17) is up 46 percent over year-ago results and "Passions" (1.3/11) is up 44%.
